Soon after this we were back in a taxi on our way back to Shamian Island for round two of our shopping and to pick up some items we purchased the day before. For lunch, we ate at a restaurant called Lucy's which served a wide variety of Asian and Western styles of foods. Between the Eggs & Bacon, Cheeseburgers and Grilled Cheese, our kids were happy for something they haven't had since home. (that is except for the two visits to McDonald's so far) It was a beautiful day here in Guangzhou so while at Shamian Island we walked around the garden areas enjoying the sunshine.
Later this evening we met up with many families in our group for dinner at A Thousand and One Nights restaurant. You may have already guessed that we didn't have turkey, ham, stuffing or cranberries. It was a diverse evening eating Arabian food in China for Christmas. We hope your Christmas is as enjoyable as our was today.

Christmas is good wherever it's celebrated. Ours was good, but we sure missed you...almost started waiting for you to come before starting!!! You have a great opportunity to share the meaning of CHRISTmas...does that make you home missionaries??lol Be prepared for plenty of snow when you get home; lots now and more on the way.
Good morning, guys! You sure look like you are making the most of your China visit! I *love* the tea pictures! You are so close to coming home now that you must be getting antsy. Like Grandma Nancy said... be prepared for plenty of snow, and chilly temps! More like Beijing's right now. I wonder what Jiang Ting will think of it? Brian's first response was "bu chi!" (I don't want to eat that!) lol! He's loving sledding and tromping around now. Yesterday was, of course, his first celebrated Christmas! He wasn't really sure what to do but soon got into the swing of opening gifts. Will you be doing a belated celebration? Or maybe you'll be too exhausted. How did the chops turn out??
